HAMPTON, NJ FATAL HOUSE EXPLOSION

Hampton, NJ--74 New Street House Explosion
Hampton, NJ-- Companies were dispatched to 74 New Street for a house that was completely leveled by what appeared to be a propane gas explosion. Dispatch reported that two people a man and woman were in the house at the time of explosion but only one escaped. A retired captain from the Plainfield Fire Department tried to rescue a woman trapped under debris but flames hampered his efforts. A female body was later recovered from the basement of the house.
