Holland Township, NJ-- 138 Hawk Schoolhouse Road fatal house fire. A Milford Fire Captain was transported by EMS last night after attempting a rescue on the trapped occupants. Firefighters made two grabs from a 2nd floor window a female and child. The female later succumbed to her injuries the child and father remain in critical condition at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest's burn unit. Radio transmission said one had burns over 50% of their body, EMS requested two flown by air medical. Companies laid 5" up the driveway and attacked the 2.5 story stone farm house and placed large lines in service. Milford's Engine used a pond across the street as the water source and supplied the 5" most of the mutual aid tenders were recalled from the scene. Phillipsburg, NJ-- Companies rolling in on a reported structure fire this morning in the 600 block of Ferguson St. Phillipsburg Police arrived and reported heavy smoke throughout the residence first arriving tower and engine stretched a line and investigated. City of Orange, NJ-- 450 Orange Road 3rd Alarm for heavy fire on all floors of a 2.5 story balloon frame. Arriving companies had a basement fire with extension to the first floor and walls, Interior firefighters had heavy fire and spongy floors with that command pulled companies out and went to a defensive operation. Elizabeth, NJ-- One person was killed and another injured after an explosion in a basement of a deli. Command reported it appeared they were working on a refrigerator filling it with refrigerant when the explosion occurred.
