Newark, NJ-- 80 Doremus Avenue chemical explosion audio from Broadcastify and has been trimmed to free up dead air time.
Firefighters remained on the scene at a Doremus Avenue business hours after it was heavily damaged by an explosion and blaze that broke out around 5:15 p.m. Monday.
Capt. John Brown of the Newark Fire Department said the 2-alarm blaze started at Boasso America on 80 Doremus Ave. Four workers were hospitalized, with one victim transported to St. Barnabas Medical Center and three others taken to University in Newark. Brown did not release any information on the condition of the victims.
The whereabouts of one of the victims was initially unknown, but he was later found alive in the building where the explosion occurred, Brown said.
